The final installment of the catch up. You can go back to see Part 1 and Part 2 if you feel like you missed out. August and September were tough, I’ll admit. Coming back from a fun-filled summer to an apartment full of packed boxes, no friends and a job that didn’t include the fun of back-to-school was depressing. It’s taken me a minute, but I am finally feeling settled.
And of course, it wasn’t all bad, either.
In September I got to go to a leadership training in San Francisco at Stella & Dot’s home office and it was so much fun. I spent the day learning from so many driven west coast leaders, previewing the Holiday collection, and touring the gorgeous office space. I was in sparkly heaven. And since the training was on a Friday, Mr. Handsome met me to spend the weekend in SF. I had never been to Alcatraz and we loved it.
In September I also made my first ever trip to Houston to visit my aunt and her miracle snowflake baby, James. I don’t think I’m being at all biased when I say he is the cutest, best, most amazing baby ever born. (Stay tuned for pics of his super adorbs baby shower thrown by yours truly – also not biased – after the new year). I got to spend a week binge watching all of Downton Abbey and snuggling with James.
And since then I have been back and busy working at my new Pure Barre studio in Del Mar, meeting as many new people as I can, and doing tons of fun styling events. We’ve already had three house guests and I don’t think they will slow down considering we now live in a place with better weather than pretty much everywhere.
When we moved here my cousin bought me a Fodor’s Travel Guide to San Diego, so any time Mr. Handsome has a day off we pick something from the book and go check it out. I have to say it’s one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten. It’s gotten us out of the house a lot. A lot of San Diego’s best offerings are outdoor activities, and I’m what you’d call “indoorsy” – but I’m making an effort to place nice with Mother Nature.
Pacific Beach
Encinitas
Point Loma State Beach
Torrey Pines State Beach
San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Preserve (and yes, I own other shirts)
Balboa Park
Temecula Wine Country
And of course, the World Famous San Diego Zoo. I only like about 5 animals but flamingos are boss.
I’ve also started an exciting new adventure (because I never have enough to do) and am working on a Meeting and Event Planner certificate at SDSU and learning everything I can about the professional side of event planning to see if I want to turn my creative love of party planning into a career.
Thanks for stopping by and I can’t wait to see what the new year brings! And before then, I have a few holiday posts planned!
Besos!
